Let’s face it, athlete’s foot is not something very enjoyable to have. The people who deal with athlete’s foot normally deal with uncomfortable symptoms such as itchiness, dry scaly skin, cracked heels, and small blisters. In order to get athlete’s foot you will need to have contact with the fungus. If areas of your feet, such as the skin in between your toes is warm and damp, the fungus can grow and develop into athlete’s foot.
Did you know that there is more than one type of athlete’s foot conditions? One that causes severe dryness known as moccasin-type; another known as vesicular which forms blisters; and the most severe, ulcerative which attacks the feet in larger areas.
Athlete’s foot can be contagious. The infection can be spread in damp or moist places such as public pools, a health club locker room, or even a nail salon. For people who have had athlete’s foot before, older people, or those with weakened immune systems are more prone to get it again or have a recurring infection.
